Easter 2021 at least we got to celebrate it this year. Happy Easter Everyone what a year it has been. No more work for the newspaper for me either. It has been quite a drop in income for me, an income that has been able to keep me from going completely under. So Grateful to have had my now-adult children living at home with me during this time contributing in whatever way they can. I have never been one to live high on the hog. Being somewhat frugal has enabled me to get through the past year. Oh and of course being in Australia living in a regional area has helped a lot. Have you noticed that most spread of that virus has occurred in well-populated areas Cities crammed in like sardines, Those who live in apartment complexes? Well, it seems this is a problem in many other cities around the world. I distrust the narrative about this virus, which is being pushed by Mainstream Media. Many things do not add up to me, Logic and common sense like many other issues facing this planet I do not trust science either. Follow the Money that is all I will say on it.

Thankyou China.......
Well, the Western World has pretty much gone into lockdown, and I will look to gather my thoughts about Covid 19, which started in Wuhan China, November 2019. I am not a doctor, or scientist so I am reliant on accurate information and the TRUTH.
This morning it is 24 March 2020, I have lost my weekend job as a sports photographer with the local newspaper. Yesterday was not only my younger sister's birthday, but my son lost his job as an apprentice chef at a local hotel. All Bars, Clubs, and Hotels have closed as of Noon on 23 March for a period of at least 6 months. My daughter still has her casual job for the time being, and my youngest son who has been looking for meaningful work will now find it harder to find work. another son still has his job. My eldest daughter is working from home in Adelaide.
I am not scared of that virus, for all intents and purposes it is a mild illness, but it is the spread of it, that is a concern. The Elderly and the immune-compromised people in this world are most at risk.
I am not going to get into the Politics of China, except to say THANKYOU for infecting the world with your germs. I don't care if it comes from a Bat that some sick human has eaten or a lab China needs to be held to account for what they have done. The conspiracy theorist in me tells me it is all deliberate. I do not trust China.
What can Australia learn from this pandemic? We have all the resources in Australia to be self-sufficient. as a nation. Bugger the rest of the world. Australia must take back their ports, we must take back our manufacturing, and farmers must produce food for Australians FIRST. I am in favour of the restrictions placed on me as an Australian, and the closure of our borders, what a shame that didn't happen earlier. This is one hell of a rollercoaster ride, I am grateful that I have a roof over my head, food in my stomach, clean water to drink and social isolation will enable me to get some things done around the house. I do not even have to get out of my pyjamas to do that either.
I have to go with the flow, not stress out too much. This will be character building.

Well, Australia's economy is now in the toilet, after all this is over and done with I will #boycottChina All that I have read online, seen in the media, I still am not scared of this virus. However, it is very concerning what has happened in the last couple of weeks that could have seen Australia spared the loss of 18 people so far, countless others returning positive results. We cannot change the past or the stupid decisions that have been made, which has put Australians at risk of contracting this virus. We are not on total lockdown, but borders are closed. What a shame borders weren't closed weeks ago. I can only hope that our government has our back. I know how bias the media is when it is trying to push an agenda. Whose Agenda though? I simply do not trust any politician. The past 35 years as an adult I have seen Australia sold out, Manufacturing went from our shores, Unions pricing business out of workers. So-called foreign investment in Australia. Humans do not like sudden change, but change is what has been needed to make people wake up and take notice. Australia used to make everything we needed. Linen, Whitegoods, Clothing, footwear, furniture. I am prepared to "follow the rules" for the moment, but I will not follow if they become permanent. I do not think most Australians will either. Just stay safe, wash hands, keep up good hygiene and isolate as much as you can. Most of all do not let this crisis become a social norm. If it does the government better prepare for rebellion.

South Australian borders are closed, Australian Borders are closed for all except necessary travel, and an agreement of 14 days Mandatory isolation to combat the spread of the virus.
I am grateful to live in Australia, and even South Australia for that matter, at this point in time.
When I look at the statistics for this virus South Australia is fairing well so far, compared to the eastern states of Australia. That may be due to having a considerably smaller population.

Eleven people in South Australia have today tested positive for COVID-19. There have now been a total of 396 confirmed cases in South Australia.
Today’s cases range in age from people in their 20s through to people in their 60s.
To date, 46 people have been confirmed cleared of COVID-19 however we expect this number to increase as our data is updated.
Investigations are ongoing into the cluster of cases identified at Adelaide Airport. Two additional cases are linked to close contacts of the baggage handlers, bringing the total cluster to 19.
Anyone who is sick with symptoms of COVID-19 and has been at the Adelaide Airport, including in the terminal or car park, since Tuesday 17 March should present for testing.
As of today, there are 84 cases linked to the Ruby Princess cruise ship, which is the biggest cluster in cases. There have been 116 cases in total linked to cruise ships.
All other confirmed cases have recently returned from overseas, interstate, or are a close contact of a previously confirmed case.

Interstate Travel Restrictions
The State Government has taken unprecedented action in response to the coronavirus pandemic requiring all people entering South Australia to isolate for 14-days from their arrival.
This will apply immediately to South Australians, other Australians and other travellers, and will be supported by border control and will become an enforceable obligation from Tuesday 24 March at 4pm.

- National and state security and governance
- Health services
- Essential medical treatment
- Transport and freight services
- Skills critical to maintaining key industries or businesses
- Emergency Services workers
- Cross border community members
- Passing through (travellers will need to make their own enquiries about entry into their final state destination)
- Compassionate grounds

Welcome to 2020 and I am not talking about my vision
Welcome to 2020, and for those who don't know I don't exactly have 2020 vision, but enough to get me by.
isn't it amazing how far Ash clouds travel? This photo I took tonight, the cloud is actually a smoke haze from the Bushfires on Kangaroo Island, here in South Australia. I actually live in the city/town of Whyalla about 300 km away from Kangaroo Island. Thankfully there is no smell but the smoke makes one's eyes very dry.

2019 The Year that is
2019 what a year Dion would have been 30 years old. Imagine that 30 years since I held that newborn baby boy for the first time.
The year has gone by so fast, and so much has happened since I last wrote a blog, We had to move Nana from Adelaide to Brisbane in 2016. Time was taking its toll on her health and wellbeing, so she decided to sell up and go spend some time with Renate and her daughters. Her health started to get better, but only for a short time. In September 2015 Aunty Barbara passed away, I knew then that maybe the other Lord girls would go, in February 2017 Aunty Grace passed away, given the state of mum's health we couldn't really tell her, only to find out 2 days later that mum had a serious fall. resulting in 2 massive brain bleeds. The funeral on 10 Feb I had to inform Aunty Dot, of what happened, Dot being the eldest of the Lord children, it was heartbreaking to tell her that she may be the last one of her family alive. I flew up to Brisbane I did not know if mum was going to be alive or not when I got there. I stayed until early March and mum's health had got better, but the fall and injury had accelerated her dementia. In June 2017 Aunty Dot had a stroke and was placed in a nursing home, eventually, in October 2017 Aunty Dot passed away. The day after finding out that news I had to make the decision to Euthanise our much-beloved Maltese Brandy. Again we couldn't tell mum that she had lost her eldest sister, Mum just couldn't comprehend that. Mum ended up being the last one of her family that came out from England to be alive, and she wasn't even aware of it. at the end of November 2017 mum suffered a stroke. This was the one that would eventually claim her life. Mum passed away on 8 December 2017. So again I was correct in believing mum and her sisters were much closer than they would ever admit. There was no funeral for my mum, she was taken from where she lived, straight to the crematorium. Her ashes interred at Albany Creek Memorial Park. in and English Garden setting. When I received my small inheritance I flew up to Brisbane to be there when mum would have had her 85th birthday. I took flowers to the park for her. and it rained and rained.
2018 Roan moved to his father's house. Albin remarried in October 2018, In June 2019 he came back home after getting his driver's license. Eva married Marie on 19 October 2019 and Adam also got his drivers licence. on 17th October.

The Road Crash that claimed my son Dion
On 8 August 2007 at 3.06am I lost my Eldest son in a COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE Road Crash, the Crash happened when an exhausted Dion swerved into the path of an oncoming Stateliner Bus just outside of Port Augusta South Australia he was on his way home from a day trip to Adelaide with his then-girlfriend Stephanie, this crash was totally avoidable. Dion was only 18 and had his P Plates driving solo for only 2 weeks, when he in his desire to make his Girlfriend happy they went on a day trip to Adelaide, after being pressured to bring his fathers car home ( and yes it says that in the coroners report, so I can say it here) the crash happened at 1.08 am he died of multiple injuries well that is what is says on his death certificate, in reality, he had an Atlanto-Occipital Dislocation of the Neck, a 35 cm fracture of the skull, that is what finished him off, other injuries included 2 broken femurs, broken tib, and fib, broken ankle, as well as bruised lungs. If Dion had of survived he would not have had the quality of life he wanted, for that reason I am glad he passed away, he would have needed intensive care for the rest of his life. FACTS ARE when a parent outlives their child it goes against the natural order of things, so I must take this negative and make it into a positive. My son will not have died for nothing, I also had no idea they had gone out of town, and the events of that night will stay in my mind forever.
